A Dining Experience With Elegance
Who would have believed such a tranquil dining experience existed in outer northwest Brisbane? And in relation to "outer" we are really not far at all. The quaint and homely village of Samford is a mere 22km from the CBD and even at peak times you can travel out from the centre of the city in under 40 minutes!
At the Samford Homestead, you will find the magical surrounds of landscaped courtyards and gardens. The Gazebo, which often becomes a focal point for onsite weddings, is a wonderfully intimate place for that romantic dinner for two on a balmy autumn evening. In fact if you ask Steve for the best table in the restaurant, the Gazebo could be the spot if the weather is right.
The homestead is well equipped to handle family groups and functions as well. And during the cooler months the open fire brings another dimension to the already cosy atmosphere. From the comfort of your table you can clearly view the rainforest through the floor to ceiling windows.
Country Sophistication Meets City Cuisine
The natural rainforest setting creates a relaxed and laid back dining experience which is complimented by the attentive staff. The menu is laced with mouth watering choices which will have you thinking, "Note to self:- Return soon so I can taste all of the options".
The owner and chef Steve Cowley is a man of great reputation. In his career he has created meals for Prime Ministers and Rock Stars alike! You don't get to do such things without being at the top of your game. His attention to detail brings masterful presentation to his food. It almost seems sacrilege to devour it and yet the aroma creates a desire to consume which you cannot resist. The various seafood and vegetarian dishes round out the menu which also includes some exotic meats and other delicacies.
To bring balance to the pallet, there is a carefully compiled list of wines, bruts and cocktails designed to ensure a memorable dining experience. And for the quiet ale before dinner, simply choose from the select range of beer.
No taste goes unrewarded when you visit the Samford Homestead Restaurant. You will become a fan from the moment you enter the historic foyer. The homestead houses some vital pieces of the Samford Valley's history and occupies one of the few remaining original buildings on the now busy Main St.
